Integrative Counsellor, Certified Sensorimotor & IFS Practitioner

Underpinning her training and experience lies her deeply held belief in the values of mutual respect, de-shaming and compassion. Believing that there is always a reason for the internal struggles which we face, she offers a safe space for the exploration of whatever brings you to therapy.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a ‘somatic’ or ‘body centred’ psychotherapy which draws from neuroscience and attachment/developmental studies.  The premise is that everything we experience has a body component to it e.g. a movement, a habitual gesture or posture. Noticing this in a mindful and respectful way can greatly support how we work with thoughts and emotions and therefore unhelpful patterns in life.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a model which suggests that we all have internal ‘parts’ including a core ‘Self’. ‘Parts’ adopt roles of protection in our lives as well as holding emotions and beliefs around early life woundings and trauma. All our ‘Parts’ are trying to help us in their own way. When we can be with them with compassion and understanding, we can enable the whole system to process and unburden from old injuries and become less stuck in old patterns of behaviours.
